ADA and Lilly Clinical Research Award: Diabetes Care in Older Adults

Applications for clinical and translational research studies focused on improving the evidence base and understanding of the goals, barriers, and effects of treatments and interventions (beneficial and adverse) in the older adult population with type 1 and type 2 diabetes will be accepted. Prospective, patient-orients studies are preferred.

Each investigator must submit an independent research grant application using the American Diabetes Association online research application forms. The application deadline for the American Diabetes Association and Lilly Clinical Research Award: Diabetes Care in Older Adults is September 16, 2013, for funding beginning January 1, 2014.

  1. Clinical trials involving new drugs are commonly classified into four phases. Each phase of the drug approval process is treated as a separate clinical trial. The drug-development process will normally proceed through all four phases over many years.
